Which headlight fits my car?
Three things decide it. Lamp type: halogen, xenon and LED units were often fitted to the same model and are not interchangeable, because the wiring, ballast and levelling differ. Facelift: makers redesign lamps mid-life, so an E90 3 Series pre-LCI headlamp will not fit a 2008 onward car, and the same applies to the Focus Mk3 in 2014. Side: UK cars list nearside (passenger, left) and offside (driver, right). Xenon lamps are sold with or without the ballast and bulb, so read the title; the ballast part number is usually separate from the lamp itself.

Can I fit a xenon headlight to a car that came with halogen?
Not as a straight swap. Xenon units need a ballast, different wiring and usually automatic levelling and washers to be road legal in the UK. Stick to the lamp type your car left the factory with, which is the quickest route to a part that plugs in and passes an MOT.
Do used headlights come with bulbs and ballasts?
Only when the listing says so. Some xenon lamps are sold complete with ballast and bulb from the donor car, others as the lamp unit alone. Check the title and photos, and if the ballast matters to you, ask before ordering and we will confirm what is fitted.
How do I check a used headlight before buying?
Compare the part number moulded into the back of your old lamp with the listing, confirm the side and the year range, and look at the lens in the photos for cracks or heavy fading. If anything is unclear, send us your registration and we will check against the donor car.
